About

Hi, my name is ted and I’m an adventure-holic.

Lost in Paradise

By adventure, I mean traveling the world by means of a motorcycle. Currently, I’ve got about 15,000 miles under my belt of moto-travel outside of the US. And I’m always looking for ways to increase that tally.

My latest plan is to ride an Aprilia Caponord around the world. Crazy you say? Maybe so, but I’m going to do it anyway.

The current plan is to ride from Austin TX up to Alaska, catch some transport over to Siberia then head west. Catch Mongolia, southern Russia, Kazakhstan, then into Moscow. From there head towards the Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Turn south towards Austria then into northern Italy to tour the Aprilia factory. Press on through France into Spain and then I face a choice: either pack up and ship me and the bike back to New York to complete the trip or turn south towards Morocco.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to find a way to make Morocco happen. Once in Africa I’ll follow the western Atlantic coastal route all the way to Cape Town in South Africa. Once there the plan is to ship me and the bike to Buenos Aires, Argentina and continure the journey north. A quick cut across South America brings me to Chile and the Andes where I’ll turn my sights north towards Peru. From Peru into Colombia and then ship me and the bike over the Darrien Gap into Panama.

And from there it’s all downhill. But I fully intend on enjoying the last leg of my trip through Central America into Mexico, unlike my last trip. This time, I’m going to take my sweet time.
